Usage Scenario

In the networking with inconsistent forward and return packet paths, if the session information is not timely synchronized to the standby FW, the standby FW discards packets.

To resolve this issue, you must enable the session fast backup function to synchronize the session information from the active FW to the standby FW, so that the return packets can match the session table on the standby FW.

The forward and return packet paths may be inconsistent in load balancing networking and the networking in which VRRP is not enabled on service interfaces. Determine whether the forward and return packet paths are inconsistent based on the networking and services.

Precautions

After the session fast backup function is enabled, the session backup frequency is increased, which may adversely affect the device performance.
