hrp mirror config enable

By default, the mirroring mode is not enabled.

Configuration Impact

When the device is running services, do not directly switch a non-mirroring mode to the mirroring mode. Instead, you must restore the device to the initial state and then switch it to the mirroring mode. Otherwise, services will be affected.

After they form dual-system hot backup in mirroring mode, most configuration commands on the active device will be automatically synchronized to the standby device. The administrator does not need to run these commands on the standby device. In addition, the standby device cannot be configured.

The mirroring mode does not support the backup of the following configuration commands:

• Commands executed on the management interface
• Device system name
• shutdown, undo shutdown, and restart in the interface view.
• Commands of BFD function

Precaution

In mirroring mode, you must run the hrp mirror config enable command manually on both the active and standby devices. The mirroring mode applies only to hot standby in active/standby mode, and the VRRP function can be configured neither on the active nor the standby device.

The hrp mirror config enable command is not used for synchronizing configurations. The commands for synchronizing configurations are:

• Automatic backup: hrp auto-sync [ config | connection-status ]. By default, the automatic backup function is enabled.
• Manual batch backup: hrp sync { connection-status | config }. If the automatic backup function is unavailable or a forcible backup is required, use this command. The command configuration takes effect only one time and is not saved into the configuration file.

After the mirroring mode is enabled, the preemption function does not take effect.
