Usage Guidelines

When the HRP status of the two FWs is normal, the VGMP groups have the same priority. After the hrp switch standby command is run on a device, the VGMP group priority of the device is decreased by 1. If this command is run on the active device, the VGMP group priority of the active device will be lower than that of the standby device, triggering an active/standby switchover. After the hrp switch active command is run on a device, the VGMP group priority of the device is incremented by 1. If this command is run on the standby device, the VGMP group priority of the standby device will be higher than that of the active device, triggering an active/standby switchover.

The execution of this command is invalid if either device does not work properly. For example, if the interface of the active device is down, the device will switch to the standby state. And you cannot run the hrp switch active command to switch it back to the active state.

After running the hrp switch active or hrp switch standby command to manually switch the device status, run the undo hrp switch command to restore the device status as soon as possible.

After the hrp switch command is run, run the display hrp state verbose command to view the Running priority field to check the change of the priority of the VGMP group.
