hrp track ospf first-check-delay

Function

The hrp track ospf first-check-delay command sets a hold-off period for a VGMP group to monitor the OSPF neighbor status.

The undo hrp track ospf first-check-delay command restores the hold-off period set for a VGMP group to monitor the OSPF neighbor status to the default value (10 minutes).

Format

hrp track ospf first-check-delay delay-minutes

undo hrp track ospf first-check-delay

Parameters

Parameter Description Value
delay-minutes Specifies a hold-off period for a VGMP group to monitor the OSPF neighbor status. The value is an integer ranging from 1 to 30, in minutes.

Usage Guidelines

By default, a VGMP group starts to monitor the OSPF neighbor status after a hold-off period of 10 minutes.

Usage Scenario

The FW's service interface works in Layer 3 mode and is connected to a router, and OSPF runs on the FW and router. To enable the FW to detect OSPF route faults and trigger an active/standby switchover promptly, configure a VGMP group to monitor the OSPF neighbor status. However, the establishment of an OSPF adjacency takes time during network deployment or adjustment. To prevent an active/standby switchover from being performed before the OSPF adjacency is established, run the hrp track ospf first-check-delay command to set a new hold-off period for the VGMP group to monitor the OSPF neighbor status.

Configuration Impact

After the hrp track ospf first-check-delay command is run, the system starts the timer only once each time if the following conditions are both met: During the delay-minutes value specified by the timer, the system tolerates the Non-full OSPF neighbor state. Any OSPF neighbor state is identified as Unknown, and the VGMP group priority is not adjusted, which does not trigger an active/standby switchover. After the specified hold-off period expires, the system starts to check the OSPF neighbor status. During the check, if the OSPF neighbor status is Full, the VGMP group priority keeps unchanged; if the OSPF neighbor status is Non-full, the VGMP group priority is reduced by 2, triggering an active/standby switchover.

Example

# Set the hold-off period for a VGMP group to monitor the OSPF neighbor status to 20 minutes.
