The hrp track vlan command configures the VGMP group to monitor the status of a VLAN.
The undo hrp track vlan command terminates monitoring the status of a VLAN.
| Parameter | Description | Value |
|---|---|---|
vlan-id |
Specifies the ID of the VLAN. |
The value is an integer ranging from 1 to 4094. |
Application Scenario
When the FW works at Layer 2, to enable a VGMP group to monitor the status of Layer 2 service interfaces, you must add upstream and downstream service interfaces to one VLAN and run the hrp track vlan command.
Configuration Impact
After the hrp track vlan command is used, the VGMP group priority reduces by 2 whenever an interface in the VLAN fails.
In hot standby deployment in active/standby or mirroring mode, if the hrp track vlan command is used on the standby FW, the VLAN cannot forward packets.
Precautions
When the FW works in hot standby mode at Layer 2, hrp track vlan needs to be configured on both the active and standby devices. hrp track vlan supports backup. After two FWs are configured in hot standby mode, the command needs to be configured only on the active device.
If you run the portswitch command to switch a Layer-3 interface to a Layer-2 interface, the interface joins VLAN 1 by default. During the use of the FW, some interfaces may be switched to the Layer-2 mode but not used (no network cables are inserted, and the interfaces are Down). If hrp track vlan 1 is configured on such an interface, the VGMP priority of the FW decreases by 2 because the interface is Down, causing the abnormal hot standby status. Therefore, configure hrp track vlan 1 only when necessary.
