Usage Guidelines

The following situations may occur if the VGMP group is configured to monitor the status of Trunk members:

  • If the VRRP backup group is configured on the Eth-Trunk interface or Eth-Trunk sub-interface and added to the VGMP group, when a member is faulty, the active/standby HRP switchover is triggered, even though the Eth-Trunk interface is still Up.
  • If the hrp track command is configured on the Eth-Trunk interface in the system view, when a member is faulty, the active/standby HRP switchover is triggered, even though the Eth-Trunk interface is still Up.

In the previous situations, if the HRP module is prohibited from monitoring the status of Trunk members, the active/standby HRP switchover is not triggered, so long as the Eth-Trunk interface is Up.

By default, the VGMP group is enabled to monitor the status of Trunk members, which is available to the Eth-Trunk interface.
