Usage Guidelines

The function of aging out idle L2TP tunnels is disabled by default.

After the function is enabled, the FW monitors the status of all L2TP tunnels. If no service packet (except keepalive packets) is forwarded in an L2TP tunnel within the specified aging time, the FW disconnects the L2TP tunnel.

  • In a scenario where an L2TP tunnel carriers multiple sessions, when the idle duration of an L2TP session exceeds the aging time of the idle L2TP tunnel, and other sessions remain normal, the system clears only this session without removing the tunnel.
  • The function takes effect only when the FW functions as an LNS.

Example

# Enable the function of aging out idle L2TP tunnels and set the aging time to 1800 seconds.
