ppp ipcp nbns request

Function

The ppp ipcp nbns request command enables the device to proactively request for the IP address of the WINS server from the peer end.

The undo ppp ipcp nbns request command disables the device to request for the IP address of the WINS server from the peer end.

Usage Guidelines

By default, the device does not request for the IP address of the WINS server from the peer end.

When the device directly connects to another device (the access server of the carrier through dial-up) through PPP, it can proactively request for the IP address of the WINS server from the peer end, which resolves the host name into the IP address.
