Running the reboot command has the same effect when the device is powered off and then powered on. When you maintain the device remotely, you can use the reboot command to restart the device without personally operating the device.
After the reboot command is run, the system prompts you whether to save the configuration before the restart of the device. If you enter Y but the interface card is not registered, the interface configuration may be lost after you save the configuration. Check whether the interface card is in registered state.
After the reboot fast command is run, the system fast restarts the device without prompting you whether to save the configuration in advance. Configurations that are not saved will be lost after the device restarts.
After the reboot save diagnostic-information command is run, the system saves the diagnostic information to the root directory of the CF card before restarting the device.
Confirm the action before you use the reboot command because running the reboot command leads to the breakdown of the network for a short time. In addition, when restarting the device, ensure that the configuration file of the device is saved.
If you do not respond to the prompt and the operation times out, the device is not restarted and the system returns to the user view.
