usb autoupdate userid

Function

The usb autoupdate userid command sets the user ID for automatic upgrade through USB.

The undo usb autoupdate userid command disables the user ID for automatic upgrade through USB.

Format

usb autoupdate userid userid

undo usb autoupdate userid

Parameters

Parameter Description Value

userid

Specifies the user ID for automatic upgrade through USB.

  • The value is a string of 8 to 255 characters. The system converts the string to a ciphertext string of 32 to 392 characters.
  • For security, the user ID must meet the minimum complexity requirement. That is, the user ID must contain three types of the following: uppercase letters (A to Z), lowercase letters (a to z), digits (0 to 9), and special characters (excluding ! $ & ( ) " ' - < > ` | \ ;). Keep the entered character string secure.

Usage Guidelines

The user ID for automatic upgrade through USB must be the same as the key used by the HMAC value in the index file.

For security purposes, enable user ID for automatic upgrade through USB.

After automatic upgrade through USB and HMAC check are enabled, if you run the undo usb autoupdate userid command to disable the user ID for automatic upgrade through USB, both automatic upgrade through USB and HMAC check are also disabled.
