The pim timer dr-switch-delay command enables PIM Designated router (DR) switching delay and configures the delay on an interface. When the interface changed from a DR to a non-DR, the interface continues to forward data before the delay expires.
The undo pim timer dr-switch-delay command disables PIM DR switching delay on the interface.
| Parameter | Description | Value |
|---|---|---|
| interval | Specifies the delay. | The value is an integer that ranges from 10 to 3600, in seconds. |
By default, when the interface changes from a DR to a non-DR, the interface stops forwarding data immediately.
Before the PIM DR switching delay expires on the interface, disabling the delay function or updating the delay takes effect after the delay expires.
You must run the multicast routing-enable command to enable the multicast function before using the command.
This command and pim silent command are mutually exclusive.
