require-router-alert (IGMP view)

Function

The require-router-alert command globally configures the router to discard the IGMP messages without Router-Alert options in the IP headers.

The undo require-router-alert command restores the default configuration.

Format

require-router-alert

undo require-router-alert

Parameters

None

Views

IGMP view

Default Level

2: Configuration level

Usage Guidelines

By default, the FW does not check the Router-Alert option. That is, the FW processes all the received IGMP messages including the IGMP messages without the Router-Alert option.

The function of this command is the same as that of the igmp require-router-alert used in the interface view, except for the function range. The configuration in the IGMP view is globally valid, whereas the configuration in the interface view is valid only for the current interface. The system prefers the configuration in the system view. The configuration in the IGMP view is used only when the configuration in the interface view is not done.

You must run the multicast routing-enable command to enable the multicast function before entering the IGMP view.

Example

# In the IGMP view, configure a FW to discard the IGMP message without the Router-Alert option in the IP packet header.

<sysname> system-view
[sysname] multicast routing-enable
[sysname] igmp
[sysname-igmp] require-router-alert
