The reset msdp peer command resets the TCP connection with a specified MSDP peer and clears the peer statistics.
| Parameter | Description | Value |
|---|---|---|
| vpn-instance vpn-instance-name | Specifies a VPN instance. vpn-instance-name specifies the name of the VPN instance. | The name is a string of 1 to 31 characters. |
| all-instance | Specifies all the instances. | - |
| peer-address | Specifies the IP address of an MSDP peer. | The address is in dotted decimal notation. If the peer-address is not specified, all peers are reset. |
After the reset msdp peer command is used, the TCP connection with a specified peer is torn down, and then is immediately reestablished. The interruption of MSDP services may affect multicast services.
If vpn-instance or all-instance is not specified, the TCP connections set up between MSDP peers in the public network instance are reset and the statistics of MSDP peers in the public network instance are cleared.
Use the reset msdp statistics command to clear statistics about an MSDP peer without resetting the peer.
