verify-source (RIP)

Function

The verify-source command verifies the source IP address of the received RIP Update packet.

The undo verify-source command disables source address verification.

By default, source address verification is enabled.

Usage Guidelines

This command verifies the source address of the received RIP packet. Specifically, the command verifies whether the IP address of the interface that sends the packet is in the same network segment as the IP address of the interface that receives the packet. If the addresses are not in the same network segment, the RIP packet will not be processed.

Normally, do not disable source address verification.

Example
