License Requirements

The SNMP function is not license-controlled.

Component Package Requirements

By default, SNMP does not support weak security algorithms such as MD5, 3DES, and DES56. To use these algorithms, you need to install the weak security algorithm component package (product_version_WEAKEA.mod). For details about the component package, see Dynamic Loading.

Limitations

• If a MIB Browser tool or NMS workstation connects to the , to ensure that the MIB Browser tool or NMS workstation can read the MIB information on the , you are advised to use SNMPv2c or SNMPv3.
• SNMPv3 is much securer than SNMPv1 and SNMPv2c. Therefore, you are advised to use SNMPv3 rather than SNMPv1 and SNMPv2c.
• If the NM station uses a virtual system interface for device management, the created ACL must be bound to VPN multi-instance. Otherwise, the NM station cannot be used to manage devices.
