This section describes key options in the startup information and each BootLoader menu.
The BootLoader loads and upgrades the system software and commissions and checks the system after power-on. During device startup, press Ctrl+B within 3 seconds to enter the BootLoader menu when message "Press Ctrl+B to stop auto startup..." is displayed.

Enter the BootLoader password. By default, the BootLoader password is empty. When you log in to the system for the first time, the system prompts you to set a new password. The password must be a string of at least eight characters, including at least two types of the following: uppercase letters, lowercase letters, digits, and special characters (such as ! @ # $ %). Info: The password is empty. For security purposes, change the password. The password must contain at least 2 of these characters: upper-case letters, lo wer-case letters, digits, and special characters. New password:********* Confirm password:********* After the new password is set, the system restarts if you enter incorrect passwords for three consecutive times in subsequent logins. To change or clear the password, access the Password manager submenu. To ensure security, you are advised to periodically change the password. |

Perform this operation to directly start the device using the current configuration. This operation does not restart the BootLoader, but continues to start the system. |
2. Serial submenu |
Access this submenu to change the transmission rate of the console port. After the transmission rate of the console port on the device is changed, change the transmission rate of the port on the connected PC to the same rate and re-establish the connection between the device and PC. You can perform the following operations:

3. Ethernet submenu |
Access this submenu to change the system software or patch file. This operation features fast file transfer rate, but you must configure network parameters and an FTP, a TFTP, or an SFTP server to ensure that there are reachable routes between the device and FTP/TFTP/SFTP server. Access this submenu to view or modify startup configuration. You can perform the following operations:

5. File system submenu |
Access this submenu to view the file system or backup files. Table 2 describes the operations that can be performed after you access this submenu. |
6. Password manager submenu |
Access this submenu to change the password for accessing the BootLoader menu, preventing unauthorized users from accessing the BootLoader menu. You can perform the following operations:

Keep the BootLoader password secure to prevent unauthorized users from accessing the BootLoader menu and performing unauthorized operations on the device. |

8. Reset factory configuration |
Restore the factory settings. All configurations will be restored to the initial status. This operation can be performed only after you enter the correct BootLoader password. The system restarts if you enter incorrect passwords for three consecutive times. |
9. Reset factory password |
Reset the administrator password, which is left empty by default. This operation can be performed only after you enter the correct BootLoader password. The system restarts if you enter incorrect passwords for three consecutive times. You can perform this operation when you forget the administrator password. Then you do not need to enter the administrator account and password when logging in to the device for the first time after the device restart. After logging in to the device, set the administrator password and log out of the device in a timely manner to ensure device security. |
