Changing the BootLoader Password

This section describes how to change the BootLoader password.

Context

By default, the BootLoader has no password. You need to set a new password upon the first login. To prevent unauthorized users from accessing the BootLoader menu, you need to change the BootLoader password and update the password periodically.

After changing the BootLoader password, keep it secure to prevent unauthorized users from accessing the BootLoader menu and performing unauthorized operations on the device.

Procedure

Connect the device through the console port and restart the device. When the message "Press Ctrl+B to break auto startup..." is displayed during the device startup, press Ctrl+B within 3 seconds to enter the BootLoader main menu and change the BootLoader password. After the password is changed, return to the main menu and enter 1 to continue the device startup and return to the configuration page.

Info: The password is empty. For security purposes, change the password.        
The password must contain at least 2 of these characters: upper-case letters, lo
wer-case letters, digits, and special characters.
