This section describes how to use the CLI to configure a traffic profile. A traffic profile defines available bandwidth resources that can be assigned to bandwidth management objects. The traffic profile is referenced by a traffic policy.
If traffic matches a traffic policy and the traffic volume exceeds the thresholds specified in the traffic profile after you enable bandwidth management logging, the bandwidth management module will generate packet discarding logs and output the logs to the information center.
If traffic matches a traffic policy and the traffic volume exceeds the thresholds specified in the traffic profile after you enable the trap function for bandwidth management, the bandwidth management module will generate packet discarding trap messages and output these messages to the information center. IPv6 traffic discarding trap messages are not supported.
