Customizing the Space of a Log Disk
This section describes how to configure the space of a log disk and manually delete logs on the web UI.
Before adjusting the size of the log disk, check the available space of the log disk. If the free disk space is available for expanding the log disk space, the original logs are not affected. To reduce the log disk space, you need to clear the original logs on the disk first. For details, see Manually Deleting Logs.
Customizing the Storage Space for Logs Through the Web UI
The device allocates specific default storage spaces on the hard disk for storing logs from each module. If the storage space is insufficient or you need to reduce the storage space for a certain type of logs, you can customize the storage space.
This function is supported only when a hard disk or SD card is in position.
- Click
. In Specify Storage Space, manually set the storage space for the specified type of logs.
If you need to restore the default settings, click Restore Defaults.
The device allocates storage space for each type of logs. If the log storage space of a module hits or exceeds the specified threshold, the device logs the event. Enter the threshold in the Alarm Threshold area box of Set Disk Usage Alarm Threshold.
When one storage space is full, the device deletes earliest logs to receive new logs.In Processing Mode of Set Log Process Mode Upon Full Disk Space, select a log processing mode for the scenario in which the disk is full.- Overwrite indicates that new logs overwrite the oldest logs in case of insufficient log storage space.
- Discard indicates that the device discards new logs in case of insufficient log storage space.
