The dialer timer compete command sets the idle time for an interface after call contention occurs on the interface.
The undo dialer timer compete command restores the default setting.
| Parameter | Description | Value |
|---|---|---|
| seconds | Specifies the idle time when call contention occurs. | The value is an integer ranging from 0 to 65535 seconds. The default value is 20 seconds. |
Call contention occurs if no idle channel is available when DCC initiates a call.
Normally, after a link is set up, the idle time set by the timer idle command takes effect. However, if a call to a different destination is initiated on this interface at this time, call contention occurs. In this case, DCC replaces the idle time set by the timer idle command with the idle time set by the timer compete command.
Before configuring the dialer timer compete command, run the dialer user command to enable Resource-Shared DCC or run the dialer enable-circular command to enable Circular DCC.
